These Android phone users are at risk, be careful now?

Information technology desk:  Those who use Google browser on Android phones, be careful now. Because, there is a risk of cyber attack on Chrome. Recently, the Indian government issued a high-risk warning for Chrome users. According to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), several vulnerabilities have been identified in the Chrome browser, through which hackers can take over the system and exploit it. CERT-IN has highlighted these issues in the latest Deity guidelines. And urged users to take urgent steps to reduce the risk. 

According to CERT-IN, multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in both Android and Google Chrome. As a result, millions of devices will be exposed to cyber attacks. And this vulnerability has been given a high severity rating. And if exploited, it would allow cyber attackers to generate arbitrary code. As a result, the entire system will have problems. According to CERT-IN, this type of vulnerability exists in multiple versions of Android and Google Chrome. As a result, millions of devices and even users may be at risk.

According to the Indian government's cyber-security team, these Chrome vulnerabilities can be exploited in several ways. Primarily it can be done by malicious websites or applications. Vulnerabilities in Google Chrome include integer overflow in the layout feature, improper implementation in the V8 JavaScript engine, and type confusion in V8. If a cybercriminal induces a victim to visit a specially crafted web page, they can generate arbitrary code, allowing unauthorized system access. Even the user's sensitive information can fall into the hands of an attacker.

Similarly, in the case of Android, one of these vulnerabilities is - Framework, System and Subcomponents of MediaTek and Qualcomm. If these can be successfully exploited, cybercriminals can create code. Due to which they can easily hack the targeted system. As a result, they can steal all the customer's sensitive information, confidential information.

Ways to stay safe

According to CERT-IN, since the risks are high, users can stay safe by installing updates from Google and OEMs immediately.
