He made the remarks while speaking as a special guest after the final match of the tournament held at the Army Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.
Mahdi Amin said that a total of 2.2 million students, including 1.1 million boys and 1.1 million girls, participated in the Primary School Gold Cup Tournament.
He said, “Probably we are the ones who have organized the largest football tournament of this scale in the world. More than 123,000 matches were held during the tournament.”
Mahdi Amin said, “If we can present this achievement properly, Inshallah, we will be able to say that we have created a record under the leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister.”
The Prime Minister’s Education Adviser said that in terms of participation, the Prime Minister wants to build an education system where students can express their talents and abilities.
He said that while education is certainly important, it is even more necessary to develop moral values and family values among students so that they can become good citizens.
He added that education will remain a priority, but students should also pursue areas where they have interest, whether it is sports or cultural activities. Such opportunities will help reveal their hidden talents and creativity.
Mahdi Amin said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the government is ensuring maximum sincerity, cooperation, support, and care as a guardian so that the students who participated in the tournament can showcase their hidden talents.
He said that the matter is not only about those who won or lost today. “This victory belongs to all 2.2 million participating students,” he added.
He further said that these young athletes will become the builders of a beautiful Bangladesh in the future. He extended his best wishes to them and assured that the government would stand beside them with full support.
