Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka Commemorates First Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq

Diplomatic Correspondent: The High Commission of Pakistan in Dhaka solemnly commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq (The Battle of Truth) through a special ceremony held in Dhaka on Saturday. The event brought together academics, journalists, students, and members of the Pakistani community living in Bangladesh.

During the ceremony, messages from the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, as well as the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces were read out, paying rich tributes to the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering resolve demonstrated by the Armed Forces and people of Pakistan during Marka-e-Haq.

The messages reaffirmed that Pakistan’s Armed Forces remain fully prepared and capable of addressing future challenges and threats. They also reiterated Pakistan’s principled support for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that lasting peace in South Asia would remain unattainable without a just resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Highlighting Pakistan’s responsible role in regional and global peace, the leadership stressed that the country not only possesses the capability to defend itself but has also emerged as a guarantor of peace and stability. Tribute was also paid to the sacrifices of the Shuhada, while renewing the national pledge to remain united and steadfast in safeguarding the sovereignty and security of Pakistan.

The messages further underscored Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and stated that Pakistan would not allow the territory of any country to be used against it.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider paid glowing tributes to the heroic Armed Forces of Pakistan and the resilient people of the country for standing united against what he described as unprovoked Indian aggression.

Other speakers, including Pakistani students and members of the Pakistani community, also praised the civilian and military leadership, as well as the Armed Forces and citizens of Pakistan, for demonstrating unity and determination during Marka-e-Haq.

As part of the commemoration, a pictorial exhibition showcasing significant moments of Marka-e-Haq was organized at the chancery premises. A special documentary highlighting the professionalism, bravery, and operational excellence of Pakistan’s Armed Forces was also screened for the participants.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
