Kurigram Correspondent: A student named Lima Akhtar (19) was not given the Alim examination in Ulipur, Kurigram. She yearned to return to her normal life. Even though 19 years of her life had passed, she did not even realize that a deadly disease had taken hold of her kidneys. When she realized it, both her kidneys had failed.

‎‎Lima is the daughter of Abdul Latif of Madhya Sadulya Fakirpara village in Tabakpur Union of the upazila. Lima's two eyes are filled with dreams, but instead of a handful of dreams, only the horror of death. Lima is slowly moving towards surrendering her life to the Almighty with her exhausted body. Her father, a daily wage laborer, cannot afford to spend money to keep her alive. Even then, there is no shortage of efforts from her family. Her father, Abdul Latif, has sought the cooperation of everyone in the society to save Lima, who is a helpless girl.

‎‎Father Abdul Latif is a day laborer and mother Machuma Begum is a housewife. Lima is the elder of the two sisters. Lima passed the entrance examination in 2023 from Sadulya Sarkarpara Mostafabia Dwimukhi Alim Madrasa with 'B' grade and was admitted to the Alim class in that madrasa. She was an Alim examinee this time. Irony of fate In March this year, she fell ill and went to see a kidney specialist at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. After tests, the doctor said that both of Lima's kidneys were damaged. Due to lack of money, Lima's physical condition is deteriorating day by day. Lima is currently undergoing treatment at the Medicine Department of Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

‎‎Student Lima said, I want to live. I want to return to a normal life. I want to study. She requested capable people from home and abroad to come forward to save me. Locals Golap Uddin, Abdul Motaleb, Mominul Islam and Zayda Begum and many others said that Lima is very sick. Lima needs a lot of money to survive. Lima's father, a daily wage laborer, does not have that much money. The locals requested everyone to stand by Lima.

‎Lima's father, Abdul Latif, said that I do not have much money. I am continuing the treatment with whatever I had. I need 12 lakh taka to transplant both kidneys. Where will I get that much money? The doctor said that Lima can be saved if she gets a kidney transplant. My appeal to the countrymen and expatriates is that everyone should extend a helping hand to save my daughter Lima.

‎UP member of Ward No. 8 of Tabakpur Union, Bazlur Rashid, said that both kidneys of student Lima Akhter have failed. A lot of money is needed to save her. It is not possible for her father, a daily wage laborer, Abdul Latif, to bear the cost of Lima's treatment.

Sadulya Sarkarpara Mostafabia Dwimukhi Alim Madrasa Principal Mostar Ahmed said that Lima Akhter was an Alim examinee this year. She could not take part in the exam due to failure of both her kidneys.
