Pabna Correspondent: Former MP of Pabna-3, BNP central executive committee member, and former president of Chatmohar Upazila BNP, KM Anwarul Islam, has clarified that no final nomination has been confirmed by the BNP for the Pabna-3 constituency. “Anyone claiming otherwise is simply wrong,” he stated.
Speaking at a brief gathering after a massive procession organized in his support by Chatmohar Upazila BNP and its affiliated wings on Monday (July 7) afternoon, KM Anwarul Islam remarked, “Right now, everyone is rallying with joy around the sheaf of paddy (BNP’s symbol). Hundreds of BNP leaders and activists are here today. When our leader Tarique Rahman returns to Bangladesh, the unrest in our area will end, and peace will be restored. We are waiting for his return.”
The former lawmaker added, “Many are speculating about nomination. But such decisions are still months away—perhaps 7 to 8 months from now. If anyone is claiming to have received it already, that is simply false. We will all continue working for the sheaf of paddy. It is our lifeblood. Only when Tarique Rahman returns will the final nomination decision be made. Until then, we remain united in our work and commitment to the party.”
Earlier in the day, KM Anwarul Islam arrived at Chatmohar Railway Station by train from Rajshahi, where he was warmly received by thousands of BNP activists. The entire station premises echoed with slogans like, “We want one thing—Anwar Bhai as our candidate in Chatmohar!”
Following the welcome, a grand motorbike rally took place with hundreds of motorcycles parading through various roads of Chatmohar Upazila, demonstrating massive grassroots support.
Among those present at the rally were BNP leader Abdul Quddus Alo Master, former UP chairman Abul Kalam Azad, Adv. Ashraful Zaman Halim, lecturer Sirajul Islam, Abdur Rahim, Sohel Rana, Kofil Uddin, Prof. Bazlur Rahman, UP member Abdul Quddus Reza, freedom fighter Abdul Gafur Sarkar, Azizul Haque, Golzar Hossain, Nazrul Islam, Kazi Khokon, Saiyedul Islam Kafi, Jubo Dal leader Faruk Hossain, Tanvir Jewel Likhan, and Swechchhasebak Dal activists Rezaul Karim and Asaduzzaman Lebu, along with numerous other party leaders and supporters.
