A journalist was shot dead in a clash between the Quader Mirza and Badal groups

News Desk: Journalist Borhan Uddin Muzakki died after a two-day battle with death. His elder brother Fakhruddin confirmed that he died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 10:45 pm on Saturday (February 20). The deceased was identified as Nawab Ali Master of Charfakira Union in Muzakki upazila.

He recently completed his Masters in Political Science from Noakhali Government College. Muzakki was the Noakhali district representative of the online news portal Barta Bazar.

According to family sources, journalist Muzakkir was collecting video during a clash between supporters of Mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and former Upazila Chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal at Chaprashirhat East Bazar on Friday (February 19th) afternoon. During this time, the bullets fired by the assailants pierced his neck, head and other parts of his body.

He was later admitted to Noakhali General Hospital in critical condition and later that night he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

His physical condition has been deteriorating since Saturday morning. He died at 10:45 pm in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital. District Superintendent of Police. Alamgir Hossain said he had heard about the death of Burhan Uddin Muzakkir. He also said that he was trying to contact the family of the deceased.

Obaidul Quader mourns the death of journalist Muzakkir

Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Obaidul Quader has expressed deep grief over the death of Borhan Uddin Muzakkir, a Companyganj correspondent of Daily Bangladesh Samachar and a member of Companiganj Upazila Press Club.

In a condolence message sent on Saturday (February 20th) night, the minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the forgiveness of his departed soul.
