A cleaning worker was killed when a microbus hit him in the capital's Kakrail

News Desk: A city corporation cleaner named Nabi Hossain (45) was killed when he was hit by a microbus while clearing the road at Kakrail corner of the capital.

The accident took place around 12:30 pm on Wednesday (February 18). He was rescued in critical condition and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at 1pm.

Mangal Mia, a cousin of the deceased, said he was crushed by a microbus while clearing the road at Kakrail junction around 12pm. At that time, he was rescued and taken to Dhame in critical condition, but the doctor declared him dead.

He also said that the deceased Nabi Hossain Brahmanbaria Nabinagar upazila. Son of Jaher Miah. He lived in a rented house in Ramna area. He was the father of three sons and one daughter.

DMEC hospital police camp in-charge (inspector) said. Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy. The matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
