News Desk: Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) has said that the speed of internet in Bangladesh may decrease on the night of January 30. The second submarine that day could only be due to line maintenance.

This information was given by BSCCL in a press release on Sunday (January 24). According to the schedule of the second submarine cable (SEA-ME-WE-5) consortium, there are plans to repair the cable for 4 hours from 2 pm to 6 am on January 30.

All circuits terminated at the SEA-ME-WE-5 Kuakata landing station will be closed at that time. But at that time the country's first submarine cable and ITC operators' circuits will remain open.

However, due to maintenance work on the second submarine cable, customers may experience temporary internet slowdown. In addition to submarine cable, Bangladesh is now connected to the World Wide Web through six alternative channels (ITC or International Territorial Cable).
