Sinha murder case: Chargesheet filed against 15 people including OC Pradeep

The chargesheet in the Rashed Khan murder case has finally been submitted to the court. The report was filed in the Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court on Sunday (December 13), accusing 15 people, including OC Pradeep, RAB-15 officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md. Khairul Alam. Of the accused, 14 are in jail and one is a fugitive. The case was discussed after more than four months and the report was submitted today after the investigation. After submitting the report to the court area ASP. Khairul Alam said, "We have investigated the Sinha murder case in various ways.

The information obtained in the investigation has been arranged and submitted as a chargesheet. Thanks to the media for being with us. ' He added, "After investigating the murder, the RAB has found 15 people involved in the incident." Among the accused, 14 are in jail, including the sacked OC Pradeep. An associate of OC Pradeep named Sagar has been shown as a fugitive. ' According to sources, Pradeep Kumar, former OC of Teknaf police station, Liakat Ali, inspector of Baharchhara camp, SI Nandadulal Rakshit, some policemen of Teknaf police station, besides three members of Armed Police Battalion-APBN and three locals have been arrested in the case.

On July 3, retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed arrived at the Nilima Resort in Cox's Bazar with three associates to shoot a travels show documentary on a YouTube channel called 'Just Go'. The news reached Pradeep Kumar, the then OC of Teknaf. Since then, OC Pradeep has told police subordinates, "The video party must be removed from here at any cost." Since then, Sinha has been under surveillance by Inspector Liaquat and SI Nandadulal Rakshita. OC Pradeep was informed after a law enforcement 'tree planting' ceremony on the morning of July 31 that Major Sinha Rashed had gone to Shamlapur Hills in Teknaf in a private car. At that time, through the source, the inspector in charge of Baharchhara camp, Liaquat Ali Sinha, kept an eye on him.

On the same day (July 31) at around 10 pm on the way to Cox's Bazar from Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive, Major (Retd.) Sinha got out of the car in the name of search at Shamlapur check post of Baharchhara Union. Rashed was shot dead. The incident caused a stir across the country. The Home and Public Security Department of the Home Ministry formed a high-level committee headed by Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Mohammad Mizanur Rahman. Similarly, 17 policemen, including Liaquat Ali, in-charge of the Baharchhara investigation center in Teknaf, were withdrawn for the sake of investigation. Meanwhile, on August 5, Sinha's sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case against nine people, including former Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das.

The main accused in the case was Liakat Ali, the inspector in charge of the Baharchhara police outpost, who shot Sinha. Teknaf Police Station OC (dismissed) Pradeep Kumar Das has been made the second accused. The statement said Liaquat had consulted him on the phone before the shooting. Liaquat shot Sinha in the head with a cold head at the OC's "persuasion and direction". It is alleged in the case that Pradeep later went to the spot and tried to distort Sinha by hitting him on the face and various parts of the body with his shoes. The third accused in the case is Teknaf Police Station SI Dulal Rakshit, who filed a case under the Narcotics and Weapons Act after Sinha's death. The seven accused policemen then surrendered to the court.

In the course of investigation, RAB arrested a total of 14 people including APBN and Pradeep's bodyguard in addition to three locals in the murder case. The case was referred to Teknaf police station on the order of the court. The case was registered under sections 302, 201 and 34 of the Penal Code. Case No. CR: 94/2020 Eng / Teknaf).
