Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is personally watching the controversy over the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said the prime minister knows how to deal with the situation. It is not right to warm your head in all matters.
Leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations paid floral tributes at the mausoleum of three national leaders in Dhaka University area on Saturday (December 5) morning on the occasion of the death anniversary of Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, the son of democracy.
After paying homage, the party's general secretary and bridge minister Obaidul Quader told reporters that although the country was independent, democracy had not yet been institutionalized. Even if a quarter speaks of democracy, they are in fact the enemies of democracy.
He also spoke about the recent controversy over sculpture in the country.
