Panchagarh Correspondent: Two Bangladeshi youths were killed in BSF firing on Panchagarh border. In this incident, a shadow of grief has descended on the entire area. The two deceased youths are Yasin Ali (23) son of Ketab Ali of Tiranihat Brahmatal area of ​​the upazila and Abdul Jalil (24) son of Zulu Mia of Magura area of ​​the same upazila. On Wednesday (May 8) at noon, the BGB protested by holding a flag meeting at the battalion commander level on the side of the Mahananda river on the India-Bangladesh border in Khoikhatpara Dargasingh area of ​​Tentulia upazila.

At this time, BSF said that they will return the body after the legal process. Panchagarh 18 BGB Battalion Captain Lt. Col. Juvayed Hasan and 176 Battalion Commandant Shri SS Sirohi were present in the said meeting. Locals said that after Tuesday (May 7) afternoon, Azharul Islam, UP member of Ward No. 4 of Tiranihat Union, former UP member Hafiz Uddin, local residents Kabir Hossain and Shamsul Haque Yasin were called from their home. At around 3 am, they heard gunshots at the border.

In the morning, it was learned that the two youths were shot dead by the BSF. The families of the two youths confirmed the matter by getting the pictures through the locals in India. Meanwhile, a man called Jalil from his home in Magura on a motorcycle at night, said his mother Jahura Begum. Jabeda Begum, mother of deceased Yasin Ali, said Azharul Islam, UP member of Ward No. 4 of Tirnihat Union, former UP member Hafiz Uddin, local resident Kabir Hossain and Shamsul Haque called my son from home.

I forbid the boy to go. Yasin says he will come from the front of the shop. In the morning I got news from people that my son was shot dead by BSF. Those four are responsible for my son's death. We want exemplary punishment for them. My son got married just a month ago. Now I'm done. They should quickly return my son's body.

Earlier I swore to my son that he will see my dead face when he goes to the border. He did not listen. Panchagarh 18 BGB battalion captain Lt. Col. Juvayed Hasan said, "We strongly protested the border killings at the flag meeting. We have said that the friendship of two countries cannot be saved by killing people on the border.

We said that they could have been arrested and taken legal action. Besides, blank shots or foot shots could be used. But they didn't. They said they were forced to shoot in self-defense. The youth attacked them with indigenous weapons. They said that they fired in retaliation. After the legal process they will return the body.
