Moscow concert attack: death toll rises to 93

International Desk:  The death toll has risen to 93 in the attack by masked gunmen at a concert hall in the capital of Russia, Moscow. The Central Investigation Authority of Russia reported this information on Saturday.

Citing the Kremlin, the Russian news agency Interfax reported that 11 people have been detained as suspects in the incident. Four of them are directly involved.  

Before this, an attack took place on Crocus City Hall in Moscow on Friday evening. At that time, the gunmen entered the concert hall and fired indiscriminately into the crowd with automatic rifles.

Based on preliminary information, Russia's Central Investigation Authority said on Saturday that 93 people have been killed in the attack so far. They fear that the death toll may increase. Earlier, the death toll was reported to be 60.

According to the report of Interfax, Russia's central security agency FSB has detained 11 people in this incident. The agency informed Russian President Vladimir Putin. Four of them were directly involved in the attack. Efforts are on to nab other suspects. Interfax reported information about the Kremlin.

The Russian Foreign Ministry described the incident as a 'bloody terrorist attack'. The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack.

It was one of the deadliest attacks in Russia in decades. World leaders including United Nations, Turkey, USA, Germany, Italy, Cuba have strongly condemned and protested this incident.
