The government will buy 60 thousand tons of urea fertilizer

Economy Desk: The government has approved the purchase of 60 thousand metric tons of urea fertilizer for 209 crore 94 lakh 35 thousand 625 taka. This includes 30,000 tonnes of urea fertilizer from Qatar and 30,000 tonnes from Kafco.

The proposal was approved in the 43rd meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement held on Wednesday (December 27) under the chairmanship of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal.

After the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Syed Mahbub Khan presented the detailed information to the journalists.

He said that Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) under the Ministry of Industry has approved the proposal to import 30 thousand metric tons of bulk granular urea fertilizer 105 crore 1 lakh 31 thousand 250 from Muntajat in Qatar through the state contract.

Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) under the Ministry of Industry has approved the proposal to purchase 30 thousand metric tons of bagged granular urea fertilizer from Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited (Kafco), Bangladesh at 11th lot at Tk 104 crore 93 lakh 4 thousand 375.
