International desk: After the attack on Ukraine, the Western world imposed strict sanctions on Russia. As a countermeasure, Russia has significantly reduced energy supplies to Europe. Moreover, Europe also wants to reduce energy dependence on Russia. In such a situation, trade relations between China and Russia have become stronger. Import and export increased.

China imported a record amount of fuel from Russia last month. Meanwhile, the country's total import of energy products stood at 830 billion dollars. It is known that Beijing is increasingly dependent on Moscow for crude oil, gas and coal. This information was reported in a Bloomberg report on Tuesday (September 20).

China's fuel imports from Russia in August were 68 percent higher than last year, according to China's Customs Statistics Department. After the attack on Ukraine, in the last six months, China has imported a total of $4,400 million worth of energy products from Russia.

However, due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the price of fuel in the international market has increased abnormally. Meanwhile, China's energy imports have decreased this year due to the economic slowdown and the Corona policy. Because the demand is less than before. However, trade between Russia and China has increased many times over various international issues.

According to the report, Russia exported 8.34 million tons of oil to China last month i.e. August. In July it was 7.15 million tons. A year ago it exported only 6.53 million tons. Before the war, China imported most of its goods from Saudi Arabia. Russia wants to export more energy products to China in the coming months.
