Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned to the country

News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home after a two-week visit to Glasgow, London and Paris. Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP Flight (BG-2109) carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning.

The Prime Minister arrived in Glasgow on October 31 on a two-week visit to the United Kingdom and France. In Glasgow, he attended the COP-27 summit and other events with world leaders.

While there, the Prime Minister attended the CVF-Commonwealth High-Level Panel Discussion on Climate Properties Partnership at the Commonwealth Pavilion of the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) on 1 November.

After a meeting with Patricia Scotland QC, Secretary General of the Commonwealth, she attended the opening ceremony of COP26 and spoke at the same event. The Prime Minister attended a meeting titled "Action and Solidarity - The Critical Decade" at the British Pavilion.

Later in the day, Bill Gates, founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister. He later attended a VVIP reception at COP28. In the evening, the Prime Minister took a virtual part in the civic reception organized by the Scottish expatriate Bangladeshi community.

On the morning of November 2, Sheikh Hasina took part in a high-level panel discussion on 'Women and Climate Change' at the Scottish Pavilion. He later had a bilateral meeting with Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. He then joined the Commonwealth reception.

Earlier in the day, Prince Charles paid a courtesy call on Sheikh Hasina and later held separate meetings with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison at the bilateral meeting booth in the UK meeting room.

He also participated in the side event titled 'Forging a CVF Cop 28 Climate Emergency Pact' in the conference room-4 and the closing ceremony of the 'World Leaders Summit'.

That evening, Sheikh Hasina attended an event hosted by the Speaker of the Scottish Parliament, Allison Johnstone. He was speaking at a program titled 'A Bangladesh Vision for Global Climate Prosperity' held at the Scottish Parliament.

On the afternoon of November 3, the Prime Minister and her entourage left Glasgow for London on a VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Arriving in London on the same day, the Speaker of the British Parliament Sir Lindsay Hoyle paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister attended a number of important events there, including the ‘Bangladesh Investment Summit 2021: Building Sustainable Growth Partnership’, the international publication of a secret document on Bangabandhu, and a civic reception for Bangladeshis living in London.

On the morning of November 9, the Prime Minister left London for Paris with his entourage. Shortly after arriving in the French capital, Paris, Sheikh Hasina met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace and held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Jean Castex at his official residence in Matigan.

The Prime Minister attended a number of important events at UNESCO headquarters, including the award ceremony of 'UNESCO-Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy', the 41st General Conference of UNESCO, the Paris Peace Forum and the celebration of the 65th anniversary of UNESCO.

On the last day of her last visit, on 13 November, Sheikh Hasina virtually attended the reception of the citizens of the Bangladeshi community living in France.
