Railway fares are not increasing at present: Railway Minister

News Desk: The government has increased bus fares due to increase in diesel price. However, Bangladesh Railway is not raising fares for passenger and freight trains at the moment. At present, Bangladesh Railway is not taking any decision to increase the fare, said the Railway Minister. Nurul Islam Sujan.

The minister told reporters at the capital's Kamalapur railway station on Saturday (November 12) morning.

On the occasion of resumption of inter-city train break at Brahmanbaria station, which was closed for a long time, the Railway Minister visited Kamalapur station.

On March 26, the Railway Minister inaugurated the resumption of inter-city train break at Brakshanbaria station, which was damaged by the miscreants. He distributed flowers to the passengers of Jayantika Express train at Kamalapur railway station in the morning and resumed the train stop at Brakshanbaria station after giving a flag signal to the guard brake.

It is being re-launched after a long eight months. In this regard, he said, the train will stop at Brakshanbaria station in the same way as before. The station has 14 intercity, 6 mail and 4 commuter train stops.
       
The minister said at the time, those who are anti-independence, those who do not want Bangladesh, they have caused such incidents. Legal action has been taken against them. The process is ongoing.

Responding to a question from reporters, the minister said that despite the rise in oil prices, no decision has been taken to increase railway fares. Rail is a service organization, he said. We are serving the people. We are committed to provide easy and comfortable service to the people through overall development of railways. The minister urged the people to be aware of the dangers of throwing stones on the train.

At the Secretary of the Ministry of Railways. Selim Reza, Director General of Bangladesh Railway Dhirendranath Majumder and other senior officials were present.
