News Desk: Another 771,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have arrived in the country from Japan under the Covax facility. The vaccine arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 3.15 pm on Saturday (August 21).
Jasim Uddin Khan, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for Bangladesh, Jasim Uddin Khan were present at the airport.
Maidul Islam Pradhan, public relations officer of the health ministry, confirmed the information on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier, the country had announced to give 3 million vaccines to Bangladesh. On August 2, the third consignment of 6,17,060 doses of Tika came from Japan under Kovacs. On July 31, the second consignment of seven lakh 71 thousand 320 dose vaccines arrived. On July 24, the first consignment of 2,45,200 doses of vaccine arrived in Dhaka from Japan.
