On day Bengalis celebrate the day by remembering their traditions and culture.

However, the resumption of coronavirus infections this year has caused controversy over New Year's celebrations. Considering the current situation this festive season, Viber has transformed their local country bot into a ‘Happy New Year chatbot’.

This allows users to send greeting messages and play scratch and win games. David Chat, senior director of Rakuten Viber Apac, said: "This chatbot is an attempt by Viber to celebrate the local New Year. We believe in Viber, no matter what the situation, people can communicate with their friends and family. This year, due to various restrictions, the New Year may be celebrated in a limited way.

But we can understand the significance of this day and the passion of Bengalis associated with this festival. That’s why we’ve launched the new chatbot to boost the festive mood of Bangladeshi users.

”In addition to sending greetings, Viber users will be able to win attractive prizes by participating. Prizes include V / O coupons, paid sticker packs, 2 smartphones, and 5 Bluetooth speakers. Users will be able to play this scratch and win game till April 20.
