News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her firm determination to uphold the independence gained in return for the respect of 3 million martyrs and 200,000 tortured mothers and sisters, even if it is in exchange for the highest self-sacrifice.

In a message on the occasion of Genocide Day on March 25, he said, "On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Genocide Day, let us pledge to uphold the freedom gained in return for the honor of 3 million martyrs and 200,000 tortured mothers and sisters, even in exchange for the highest sacrifices. The Father of the Nation dreamed of building a non-communal, hunger-free and prosperous Bangladesh, I will resist all conspiracies and be inspired by the spirit of the great liberation war and play a united role in the realization of that dream, InshaAllah.

' Sheikh Hasina said, "March 25 is the day of genocide in the history of Bengali liberation struggle." On this day in 1971, the Pakistani aggressors carried out the most barbaric massacre in Bangladesh in the world. Recalling the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the night of March 25 with a heavy heart on the eve of the golden jubilee of great independence, he said, "Their oath of fresh blood inspired the brave Bengalis to take up arms and fight till they achieved independence." The Prime Minister said, "The ghosts of the infernal massacre on March 25, the perpetrators of crimes against humanity and war criminals are still roaming around the society, who put anti-independence Pakistani comrades in our great parliament and tarnished the proud history of the Bengali nation.

"We have tried criminals and war criminals against humanity through the establishment of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). We have ensured the people's right to vote through the Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which has closed the way for illegal seizures of power. We have recognized March 25 as "Genocide Day". In the last 12 years, we have made unprecedented progress in all indicators of development.

The Prime Minister said, "We have brought the poverty rate down to 20.5 percent. We have increased the per capita income to 2,084 US dollars. Now the average life expectancy of our people is 72.6 years. We are working on the principle of "Zero Tolerance" to eradicate militancy and terrorism.

We have already made Bangladesh a developing country. We have formulated the second perspective plan to achieve the "Sustainable Development Goals" by 2030 and to build a prosperous and prosperous Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty by 2041. Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led the liberation struggle of Bengalis all his life. He led the language movement of '52, twenty-one points of '54, the student movement of '62, six points of '66, a mass uprising of '69 with great foresight.

He left the ministry to organize and strengthen the party and, above all, to prepare the whole nation for the freedom struggle to get rid of subjugation forever. ' Noting that the Awami League, led by the Father of the Nation, had won a single majority in the National Assembly elections in the 1970s by winning 16 seats, the Prime Minister said, After the meeting, a secret conspiracy was hatched to kill the unarmed Bengalis.

Meanwhile, Bangabandhu declared a non-cooperation movement from March 2 and in his historic speech on March 7 gave a clear outline of the goal of liberation from the long 23 years of rule and exploitation. He said he had issued 35-point directives under the Non-Cooperation Movement program from March 15.

The instructions given by Bangabandhu were followed literally all over East Bengal. In fact, from then on all the administrative, political, and economic activities of Bangladesh were conducted under the direction of Bangabandhu. Yahya-Bhutto continues to offer compromises. But the undisputed leader of Bengal gave up the lure of power and remained steadfast for the freedom-loving people of Bengal. On March 23, Pakistan Day, the flag of Bangladesh with maps of Bangladesh was hoisted all over the country except the cantonment and the governor's residence.

The Prime Minister said, "March 25 was the 24th day of the non-cooperation movement. Yahya secretly left Dhaka that evening. At 12:30 pm, Pakistani soldiers with armored tanks in the name of "Operation Search Light" rejoiced in the indiscriminate killing of sleeping unarmed Bengalis.

Students, teachers, Bengali police, and military personnel were killed in surprise attacks on Dhaka University, Peelkhana, and Rajarbagh. Bangabandhu was arrested at 1:10 pm. Immediately before this, the Father of the Nation wrote the final declaration message of independence: “This is perhaps my last message, Bangladesh is independent of today. "Keep fighting until the final victory." Which was first broadcast via EPR's wireless.

' He said, ‘Bangabandhu was imprisoned in the Miawali Jail in West Pakistan and infernal violence and killings were carried out all over the country. After 9 months of the war, with the blood of 3 million martyrs and the respect of two lakh mothers and sisters, an independent sovereign Bangladesh was established on 16 December with a final victory. The Prime Minister wished success to all the programs taken on the occasion of 'Genocide Day'.
