News Desk: The writ petition has been rejected seeking postponement of the admission test for the first year MBBS course in the government and private medical colleges of the country in the academic year 2020-21.

Other public and private universities, including Dhaka University, have not started any admission process for this session. If the admission process in medical is completed long before the start of the admission process in all other universities, the chances of students getting admission in any other subject and university will be limited. The High Court dismissed the writ petition filed by the admitted students on the ground that it was not raised.

Deputy Attorney General Bipul Bagmar represented the state at the hearing. He said 1 lakh 22 thousand 74 medical students are taking part in the examination. The test will be held in 75 out of 55 venues in 19 centers. Exam preparation has been done following proper hygiene rules. In this case, the writ is not admissible.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Health Education, the admission test for the first year MBBS course in the government and private medical colleges of the country is scheduled to be held on April 2. But a section of students seeking medical admission has demanded that the date be postponed due to the Corona situation.
