News Desk: The Independence Award will be given on April 11. An earlier decision had been made to give the Independence Award on Wednesday (March 24), but the ceremony was postponed. Additional Secretary (Administration and Rules Division) of the Cabinet Division Sultan Ahmed said this on Wednesday.

"The Independence Award will be presented on April 11 (Sunday) at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium," he said. Hon'ble Prime Minister will be the chief guest at the event. 9 prominent individuals and an organization are getting the 2021 Independence Award.

This award will be given in recognition of glorious and meritorious contributions at the national level.

On March 8, the Cabinet Division released the list of nominees for the Independence Award.

This is the highest state award in the country.

The government has been giving this award every year since 1986 on the occasion of Independence Day on March 26.
