News Desk: At present, Bangladesh is a unique example of a peaceful country, said the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Co-operation (OIC). Yusuf bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen.

He said this in a congratulatory message on the occasion of Mujib Year and Golden Jubilee of Independence on Saturday (March 20). The OIC Secretary-General said, "Bangladesh is now a unique example of a peaceful country. They are also playing a role in the development of the Muslim world. I extend my sincere greetings to the President, the Prime Minister, and all the people of this beautiful moment of Bangladesh.

He said, "I wish all the best on the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence." Bangladesh gained independence in 1971. In 1974, the Father of the Nation decided to include Bangladesh as a member of the OIC. The Father of the Nation attended the second OIC conference in 1974 and was instrumental in building good relations with Bangladesh and the Muslim world.

The OIC Secretary-General added, "Since then, its relations with Islamic countries have been very good. He has also played an important role in maintaining a peaceful environment in the Muslim world.

Even on the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence, his daughter Sheikh Hasina has maintained a non-discriminatory and peaceful relationship.

Expressing hope for further strengthening the relationship between Bangladesh and the OIC, he said Bangladesh is now a bright country in terms of development and progress. The relationship between Bangladesh and the OIC is now even stronger. We will work together to establish peace and development in the Muslim world.
