Thunderstorm with wind gusts up to 60 km/h, caution in river ports

News desk:  Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms with maximum speed of 60 km per hour over Sylhet in the northeastern part of the country.

This information was given in the weather forecast issued for the river ports of the country till 1 pm on Tuesday (April 30). The forecast signed by meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said that a temporary gust of 45-60 km per hour or 45-60 km per hour will occur over Sylhet region. Rain with gusty winds or rain with thundershowers. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

On Monday (April 29), meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department gave such bad news in the next 72-hour weather forecast.

Meanwhile, in the latest forecast given last night, the Meteorological Office said that very intense heat wave is passing over Jessore, Chuadanga, Pabna and Rajshahi districts and the rest of Khulna and Rajshahi divisions and Dhaka division. Mild to moderate heat wave is prevailing over Barisal, Rangpur and Chittagong divisions including Mymensingh district and may continue.

Day temperatures may increase across the country on Tuesday and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged. Excess water vapor may cause discomfort.

Apart from this, two places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may temporarily experience rain/thunder with gusty winds. Along with that, hailstones may rain sporadically at some places. Besides, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country.
