Allegation of murder after torture of housewife in Sreepur

Sreepur, Gazipur Representative: In Sreepur, Gazipur, mother-in-law Amena Khatun (21), mother of two children, was tortured to death and her husband, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law fled after throwing the body in the toilet.

The incident took place on Saturday (March 23) afternoon in Chakpara (Salingmor) village of Mauna Union of the upazila. Police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem.

The deceased housewife Amena Khatun is a resident of Kutiapara village of Satkania Upazila of Chittagong and wife of Anwar Hossain of Salingmor area of ​​Mauna Union. Swami Anwar Hossain is the son of Manjur Ali of Salingmor area of ​​Mauna Union. He is a mason by profession. The victim's mother Monowara Begum has alleged that her daughter was beaten to death.

The housewife's husband Anwar Hossain (25), mother-in-law Anwara Begum (50), Dewar Delwar (22) and mother-in-law Renu Akhtar (38) are absconding since the incident.

Manowara, the mother of the victim, said that since marriage, her husband and her in-laws used to torture her. The local chairman-members could not find any solution to their continued torture even after several arbitration meetings. At 11:30 on Saturday, the girl's mother-in-law Renu Akhtar called and informed that Amena had died. After hearing the news, I came to the house of the girl's father-in-law and saw that there was no one at home. The girl's body is lying in the toilet inside the house. I heard from the people around me that on Friday (March 22) night, her father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and mother-in-law tortured my daughter and left her on the street next to the house. Later, with the help of neighbors, local Adam Ali took the bride from the street and brought her home and beat her to death again. They left the body in the toilet and ran away. The accused always tortured him. They killed my daughter and fled with my five-year-old son and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Sub-Inspector (SI) in-charge of Mauna police outpost in Sripur, Mintu Molla said, the body of the housewife Amena was recovered from inside the toilet of a house. After exhuming the body, injury marks were found under the muzzle. There is mystery and suspicion as the husband and in-laws are on the run. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy.
