Government is committed to building a citizen-friendly digital government: ICT Minister

​News Desk: Fakir Mahbub Anam, the Minister for Post, Telecommunications, and Information Technology of Bangladesh, participated in a high-level roundtable meeting at the 'UN Public Service Forum 2026' held in Tbilisi, Georgia. At the meeting, he highlighted Bangladesh's future plans regarding inclusive Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and ensuring public participation in government services.

​This information was disclosed today, Thursday, in a press release by Muhammad Jashim Uddin, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.

​During the event, Fakir Mahbub Anam stated, "To Bangladesh, DPI is not just a matter of technology, but rather a key mechanism for good governance. Our goal is to ensure that a citizen in a remote area can access government services as easily as a resident of the capital. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the current government is committed to building a digital-first government system."

​He mentioned that citizens of the country can currently access the same government services through the government payment platform 'Ekpay', the 'MyGov' app, the National Web Portal, or directly via the '333' helpline. Furthermore, the government is working with the goal of ensuring affordable and quality internet as well as smart devices for everyone over the next three years.

​Regarding the assurance of public feedback, the Minister noted that citizens can directly share their opinions and complaints through the Cabinet Division's 'Grievance Redress System' and 'E-Participation' system. He also shared that there is a plan to launch an 'E-Participation Ranking' in the future to further strengthen the accountability of government institutions.
