Gazipur Correspondent: Electricity supply will remain suspended for approximately 8½ hours on Saturday (June 27) in several areas of Kaliganj Upazila due to maintenance and Right of Way (ROW) work on the 33 kV transmission line under the Kaliganj-1 Substation, operated by the Kaliganj Zonal Office of Gazipur Palli Bidyut Samity-1.
The information was confirmed on Friday (June 26) evening by Md. Akter Hossain, Deputy General Manager of the Kaliganj Palli Bidyut Zonal Office.
According to the Kaliganj Zonal Office, power supply through the affected 11 kV feeders will remain suspended from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The temporary power outage will affect the Kaliganj Municipality area, Noapara, Khaikra, Pailanpur, Baranagar, Durbati, Daripara, Baktarpur, Mohoni, Darkabhanga, Pipulia, Shimulia, Beldi, Dakshin Som, Uttar Som, and other surrounding areas served by the affected feeders.
Gazipur Palli Bidyut Samity-1 stated that the temporary interruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance and Right of Way (ROW) work on the 33 kV line to ensure a safe, reliable, and uninterrupted electricity distribution system.
The authorities apologized for the temporary inconvenience caused to consumers and said every effort would be made to complete the work within the scheduled time and restore electricity service as quickly as possible. They also requested that the information be shared to help keep the public informed.
