প্রথম ধাপে স্থানীয় সময় বৃহস্পতিবার সন্ধ্যার পর থেকে হামাস ও অন্যান্য ফিলিস্তিনি গোষ্ঠী গাজায় জিম্মি ২০ জন জীবিত ইসরাইলি বন্দি এবং ২৮ জনের মরদেহ ফেরত দেবে।
এর বিনিময়ে ইসরাইল এক হাজারের বেশি ফিলিস্তিনি বন্দি মুক্তি দেবে—যাদের মধ্যে অনেকেই ২০২৩ সালের অক্টোবর থেকে আটক।
চুক্তিটি মিশরের শারম-আল-শেখে তিন দিনের পরোক্ষ আলোচনার পর সম্পন্ন হয়। আলোচনায় কাতার, তুরস্ক, মিশর ও যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের প্রতিনিধিরা অংশ নেন।

কাতারের পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয় জানায়, যুদ্ধের অবসান, বন্দি বিনিময় ও মানবিক সহায়তা প্রবেশের বিষয়ে সব দফা ও বাস্তবায়ন কাঠামোতে চুক্তি হয়েছে।
তুরস্কের প্রেসিডেন্ট রিসেপ তাইয়্যেপ এরদোগান বলেন, আমি প্রেসিডেন্ট ট্রাম্পকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই, যিনি ইসরাইলকে যুদ্ধবিরতিতে রাজি করাতে রাজনৈতিক সদিচ্ছা দেখিয়েছেন। আমরা চুক্তি কঠোরভাবে পর্যবেক্ষণ করবো এবং ১৯৬৭ সালের সীমারেখায় স্বাধীন ফিলিস্তিন রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে সংগ্রাম চালিয়ে যাবো।
