Human chains and rallies in Feni to protest the murder of journalist Muzakki

Feni Correspondent: The Feni Press Club, an organization of professional journalists in Feni, has organized a human chain and protest rally in Feni to protest against the murder of Burhan Uddin Muzakki, a journalist who was shot dead while performing his professional duties at Kompaniganj Basurhat in Noakhali.

On Monday (February 22) at a rally held at the Shaheed Minar Square in Trunk Road, the club was presided over by BTV District Representative Shawkat Mahmud and conducted by General Secretary Jamuna Television's Feni Representative Arifur Rahman. Former General Secretary of Daily Bangladesh Pratidin Feni Correspondent Jamir Uddin Beg, SA TV Feni Correspondent Mainul Islam Russell, Joint General Secretary and Dipta TV Feni Correspondent Abdullah Al-Mamun, Treasurer and Time TV Reporter Atiyar Sajal, Club Sports and Cultural Secretary Shabim Mah And technology editor Shahjalal Bhuiyan, club member Mostafa Kamal Bulbul and Banglanews' own correspondent Solaiman Hazari Dalim.

Julhas Talukder, President of Feni Branch of Bangladesh Journalists Association, President of Ramgarh Upazila Press Club was also present expressing solidarity. Nizam Uddin, former general secretary of Prothom Alo Feni Friendship Nurul Amin Hridoy, current president Sheikh Ashikunnabi Sajib, photojournalist Dulal Talukder, Rony and Nazim, Aftab, and others.

Speakers at the rally said the trial for the murder of journalist Muzakki should be held soon. Such incidents are happening again and again due to the culture of impunity in the torture of journalists in the country. The speakers demanded the government to set an example by arresting those involved in the incident, no matter how influential they are.
