News Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has condemned Qatar-based Al Jazeera's report on Bangladesh. He said Al Jazeera's report against the Sheikh Hasina government was intentional and a dirty manifestation of propaganda.

He said that the media in Bangladesh is working independently and is also criticizing the government. In a country where so many vibrant and active media have not received any information, it is highly reprehensible for Al Jazeera television to spread false information about Sheikh Hasina.

The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said this at a briefing at his official residence on Wednesday morning. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is working without any pressure as per its own legal powers and authority, he said. He said that linking the responsibility of an individual to the head of government calls into question the principle of journalism, it is not proper journalism.

Claiming that Al Jazeera had made a purposeful report on the conspiracy in London, the Awami League general secretary said that there was a conspiracy of those who were sitting in London spreading anti-national propaganda and inciting. People think that this report is part of London.

Obaidul Quader called on the Al Jazeera television authorities to stop such purposeful, misleading and one-sided reports without cooperating in the implementation of the anti-national evil agenda.

The general secretary of the Awami League said that those who have not yet accepted the independence and development, achievements and progress of the country are involved in the continuation of the tactical conspiracy of this report.

Mentioning that the most successful Prime Minister of the country after '75, Sheikh Hasina, her courageous and efficient leadership has been praised all over the world, the General Secretary of Awami League said, "Conspiracies and propaganda against the country and the government sitting at home and abroad will not work but will be a boomerang."

He said the people are on the side of Sheikh Hasina, adding that the huge victory of the Awami League candidates in the ongoing municipal elections despite so much propaganda in the past is proof of that. Claiming that the government is vocal against corruption, Obaidul Quader said that the Sheikh Hasina government is in a very strict position against injustice, irregularities and corruption. Meanwhile, the government is clarifying the 'zero tolerance' policy against corruption through cleansing operations. He said the law of Bangladesh is running at its own pace and independently.
