Resistance rally in Gopalpur to tarnish Bangabandhu's honor

Gopalpur Correspondent: Government officials and employees of all levels of the upazila staged a protest rally in Gopalpur, Tangail under the slogan "Respect the Father of the Nation, I will keep Mora Amlan" in protest of the demolition of the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bikash Biswas presided over the protest rally organized by the upazila administration on Saturday (December 12) at the BRDB ground in the city.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sadia Islam addressed the rally, Additional Superintendent of Police of Gopalpur Circle Amir Khasru, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Alim Al Razi, Officer-in-Charge Mosharraf Hossain, Livestock Officer. Abu Hanif, Senior Fisheries Officer Shahjahan Kabir, Agriculture Officer. Shahidul Islam, Gopalpur Government College Principal. Anwarul Islam Akand, Primary Education Officer Rafiqul Islam Rumi, Upazila Engineer Abul Kalam Azad, DGM of Mymensingh Palli Bidyut Samiti Mujibul Haque Milon and others. Speakers at the rally said Bangabandhu is a symbol of universal liberation beyond the barriers of time. It is the responsibility of the whole nation irrespective of religion and caste to protect his honor. Confused, those who are insulting the best Bengali of the millennium Bangabandhu are denying the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.

On the eve of the 50th anniversary of independence, such unjust boasting of extremism and fundamentalism is against the spirit of the liberation war. Later, various government officials and employees present at the rally pledged to collectively resist such anti-state conspirators, including socially resisting those involved in defaming the Father of the Nation.
