Reception to 4 Jayitas on the occasion of Rokeya Day in Ashuganj

Hasan Jabed from Brahmanbaria: Discussion meeting and Jayita reception has been held in Ashuganj on the occasion of International Women's Violence Prevention Party and Begum Rokeya Day. The event was organized by the Upazila Department of Women's Affairs on Wednesday (December 9) morning at the Upazila Parishad auditorium under the program titled Bangladesh in Search of Victory.

Chairman of Ashuganj Upazila Parishad Md. Hanif Munshi was the chief guest. Special guests at the discussion meeting chaired by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Firoza Parveen were Lima Sultana, Women Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad and Mohammad Mozammel Haque, President of Ashuganj Press Club. Welcoming remarks were made by Taslima Akhter, Upazila Women's Affairs Officer. A reception was given to the four selected winners for their contribution in various fields.

They are successful mother Lutfunnesa, Shobha Begum for achieving economic success, Nasima Begum for social development and Amena Begum for starting a new venture by removing the horrors of torture. Speakers at the discussion said that real development is not possible by neglecting half of the population of the country. There is no alternative to educating and educating women to stop violence.

They said that there is no way to deny the contribution of Begum Rokeya in the awakening of backward women. They called upon women to be more involved in the realization of Begum Rokeya's cherished dream. Officials of various departments of the upazila, representatives of civil society and women's organizations were present at the time. The guests handed over crests and certificates to the selected winners.
