News Desk: The tuition fee for the ninth grade at Maple Leaf School in the capital is Tk 8,550. The company has given a discount of Rs 50 on the occasion of Corona. On the other hand, tiffin fee has been collected from the students of Sher-e-Bangla Women's College in Tikatuli. Motijheel Ideal School and College tuition fees as well as other sectors have been collected.

In Udayan High School, only late fees are waived and other fees are being collected. Residential schools and colleges are charging accommodation fees for students. But now all the students are staying at home.

During the coronation period, the parents were relieved due to the collection of fees in this way. They are disappointed with the indifference of the ministry. The number of students in the country from primary to higher secondary level is about 3 crore.

According to the investigation, the picture of most of the institutions in the country, including the capital, is almost the same. Institutions have come to the forefront in collecting fees. In this case, various strategies have been resorted to. An organization is uploading lessons on YouTube.

Some organizations have arranged for teaching in Messenger or WhatsApp and some in Zoom. Besides, videos of teachers teaching are being posted on Facebook. This is not the end, some institutions are also taking online exams.

Students are not being included in the exam if they do not pay the full amount. Parents say that due to the closure of schools, madrasas and colleges in Corona, expenditure in various sectors including water, electricity and entertainment has been stopped. Only teachers are being paid. Some institutions have again paid partial salaries and allowances to the teachers and employees by showing non-payment of tuition fees.

In such a situation, they refer to the collection of fees as unethical and illegal. He also expressed displeasure and said that the government is indifferent in this regard. Institutions are exploiting parents in a way as they have not given any specific instructions from the Ministry of Education.

If you want to know in this context, the Secretary of the Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education. Mahbub Hossain said the education minister had earlier called on both parents and educational institutions to be humane in this regard. Our expectation was that both sides would be humane. Parents will pay the required fees in the interest of continuing the teacher's salary and allowance.

And the institution will not charge fees for tiffin or hostel charges in areas where services could not be provided to the students. But the collection of fees in the non-service sector is undesirable. I will tell the Department of Secondary and Higher Education about this. However, as the case is pending in the high court, the order could not be issued.

Parents complain that most of these lessons and exams online are nominal. Students are not benefiting much from this. Even then, many organizations have used online classes and exams as hostage tools. The class link is not being given if the money received is not paid. Educational institutions are reckless in collecting fees.

Mizanur Rahman, a guardian at Maple Leaf School, said he had ridiculously reduced the fee by Rs 50 when he applied to the institution to reduce the guardian fee. Although the students do not get different types of services, the fees of those sectors are being collected. Ashraful Islam, a guardian of Motijheel Ideal School and College, said that the institution has taken advance fee where the fee will be waived during the coronation period.

Has collected fees for various sectors including cleanliness and library. Mujibur Rahman, another guardian of the same institution, said that the institution had left the class teachers behind the students. In the name of online classes, Komalmati introduces students to Facebook. On the one hand, the fees have been collected, on the other hand, the students have been crowded on Facebook.

Even if they didn't take classes, the institution could have played a role in making the students 'trauma free' online. According to several parents of Ake High School in the capital, the online test was taken at the institution in August. Although there is no cost of the institution in the examination, 200 rupees is collected. Besides, tuition fee is compulsory till June.

Reza Raihan, guardian of Sher-e-Bangla Women's College in Wari, said the institution did not waive Tiffin's money. His two daughters are in second and ninth grade. The company has recovered the entire debt.

Sher-e-Bangla Mahila Mahavidyalaya principal Manwar Hossain said the collection of tiffin fee was not correct. They have waived it. Besides, it has been considered if anyone complains about the problem.

Parents of Bengali and English medium schools have been protesting for the last few months demanding waiver of 6 months tuition fee during the coronation period. The parents of the English medium school have a press conference tomorrow at the National Press Club.

Shami Ibrahim, one of the organizers of the press conference, said a high court order had directed that students should not be barred from online classes. But some schools, including Mastermind, are not providing class links. Is collecting almost 100% fee. They will go to the program in protest of this incident.

Freedom fighter Ziaul Kabir Dulu, chairman of the Guardian Unity Forum, said all educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 16 due to the Corona situation. Many parents are currently in financial crisis due to the epidemic situation. Some have been fired and others have lost business. In such a situation, it has become difficult for parents to pay tuition fees and other charges.

In this situation, various organizations have emerged in the role of butchers. We did not get the request of the Ministry of Education to waive the 6-month tuition fee by informing the ministry more than once about the inconvenience of the parents. It's very frustrating.
