News Desk: Due to the epidemic corona virus, crossing the Bangladesh-India border is practically stopped. Meanwhile, like last time, Bangladesh is opening the door for hilsa export during the puja season.

That is what the Indian media Anandabazar reported. They said that on Thursday night, the permission related to the export of hilsa from the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh came into the hands of the concerned agencies. Fish imports are in full swing in the country by collecting 'Sanitary Import Permits' from Delhi. According to the guidelines, 1450 metric tons of hilsa can be sent as puja gift by October 10.

October 22, the seventh day of Durga Puja. Last time, clearance was given to send 500 metric tons of hilsa. This time, Dhaka has allowed nine companies to export hilsa at a reduced rate of 150 metric tons. West Bengal Fisheries Minister Chandranath Singh on Friday said that the state is cooperating in every possible way to bring hilsa in accordance with the specific process. Syed Anwar Maqsood, head of the Howrah Wholesale Fish Trading Organization, told Anandabazar that sometimes Friday is a holiday in Bangladesh and Sunday is a holiday in India.

Efforts are being made to import hilsa next week by overcoming the obstacles. He said hilsa would enter Kolkata, Howrah and Siliguri through the Petrapole border. Now the price of one kg-1200 gram big hilsa is less than 1300 taka. Hilsa traders in West Bengal are of the opinion that the price of Padma Hilsa will be around it.
