News Desk: Microsoft has filed a lawsuit against Apple, saying that removing "Fortnight" game makers from Apple's developer tool will cause losses to Microsoft's game business.
This was mentioned in the case file filed in the US court on Sunday. The lawsuit was filed after a dispute between Reuters' Epic Games and Apple. Earlier, when buying the game from the Apple Store, the company removed the game from the App Store for violating Apple's conditions in the transaction of the bill payable by the customer.
According to Epic Games, Apple has threatened to deprive Apple of the use of the tool, despite having a license for the "Unreal Engine" used in the game to improve the graphics quality of the game.
Apple is using this graphics tool to improve the graphics quality of the iOS version of Microsoft's "Froza Street" game. For this reason, Microsoft is claiming that this rude move of Apple will harm Epic Games as well as them. Kevin Gamill, general manager of Microsoft's gaming developer Experience, said that Microsoft has largely licensed Apple's Unreal engine.
Apple's move will hamper other gaming firms, including Microsoft, from creating apps for Mac PCs and iPhones. That would hurt business and other gaming firms, including Microsoft, Kevin added.
Nicolas Penwarden, vice president of Epic Games, said on Sunday that the company was awaiting a court order not to remove Epic Games from the developer's account. Apple, on the other hand, has said that it is willing to change its mind if Epic Games amends its billing policy on app sales from their App Store.
