News Desk: The price of lotus gold is again in the country's market due to falling prices in the world market. The Bangladesh Jewelers' Association (BAJUS) has fixed a new price for this precious metal by reducing the filling price by about Tk 1,500. Bajus,

an association of gold traders, took the decision on Friday (August 21st). The new gold price has come into effect from 2 pm. Bajus general secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwala confirmed the information.

According to industry insiders, Bajus decides the price at which gold will be sold in the Bangladeshi market. This price is determined by the price increase and decrease in the world market. Generally, it is decided how much the price will increase or decrease on the basis of the average price of seven days in the world market.

Dilip Kumar Agarwal, general secretary of Bajus, said that the price of gold has come down by about 25 Dollar (around Tk 2,100) in the last few days. The price of gold is fixed all the time to keep pace with the international market. In such a situation, the price of gold has also been reduced in the domestic market due to the reduction in the price in the world market.

According to the new price, the price of 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) of good quality gold has been reduced by Tk 1,458 to Tk 72,258 from Friday. The price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 69,109, 18 carat gold at Tk 60,361 and heavy gold at Tk 50,039 per traditional method. The price of 21 carat gram of silver has been fixed at Tk 933.

Meanwhile, the price of gold rose four times in the country's market amid the outbreak of the epidemic corona. According to Bajus, gold prices in the international market became volatile in January-February. As a result, on February 19, the price of 22 carat gold per gram in the country increased to 61 thousand 528 Taka. This was the highest price of gold in the country's market at that time. Earlier, the price of gold in the country rose to the highest level on September 16, 2012. At that time the price of 22 carat gold per gram was 60 thousand 653 Taka .

According to the latest price effective from August 13, the price of 22 carat gold was 73,716Taka till noon today. 21 carat gold has been sold at Tk 70,567, 18 carat gold at Tk 61,819 and heavy gold at Tk 51,497 per traditional method.

It is learned that Bajus reduced the price on August 13 after increasing the price of gold four times in the global epidemic. The organization reduced the price of gold in the international market today.
