Ukraine claims to destroy six Russian planes

International desk:  Ukraine has launched a drone attack in the southern part of Russia. In this attack, Kiev claimed to destroy six Russian planes at the airport in the Rostov region. Ukrainian security officials confirmed this information on Friday. 

They said 8 more Russian planes were damaged in the attack and more than 20 army officers were injured. 

They also said that the Morozovsk base hosts Su-27 and Su-34 aircraft, which Russia uses in frontal warfare in Ukraine.

However, Moscow did not comment on the news of Ukraine's attack on the Russian airport. Russian officials said they targeted more than 40 drones in the area along the Ukrainian border. 

Russia's Defense Ministry said Ukraine was preparing to attack the Saratov, Kursk, Belgord and Krasnodar regions. But all their drones were shot down.
