International Desk:  A phone conversation between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping took place amidst the US-India diplomatic tension. These two leaders talked for 105 minutes on Tuesday morning. 

Meanwhile, the phone conversation took place at a time when India, a close ally of the US in the region, has recently been cracking down on the opposition. 

And when he opened his mouth about it, New Delhi summoned the US ambassador last week. Biden and Xi Jinping met for the first time in California in November last year.

The ongoing war in Palestine, Gaza and Ukraine, North Korea's nuclear weapons exercises, and other issues are causing unrest all over the world. 

Apart from this, issues such as Taiwan, provocations in the South China Sea and human rights have been a bone of contention between Washington and Beijing. 

The White House said the phone conversation between the two presidents covered several important issues, including the Taiwan Strait, the rule of law and unfettered navigation in the South China Sea. 

Biden expressed concern over China's support for Russia's weapons manufacturing base. As a result, the security of Europe and the Atlantic region will be disturbed, the President of the United States expressed concern.
In the phone call, Biden reiterated the US position on the demilitarization of the Korean Gulf area. 

He also spoke about the adverse effects that China's ongoing unfair trade and market policies have had on American workers and families.

Regarding TikTok, Biden told Xi that the goal of the United States is not to ban TikTok but to ensure its quality so that the national security of the United States and people's data are protected.

During the conversation, the two leaders welcomed the ongoing efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two countries through high-level diplomacy. In continuation of these efforts, they agreed to hold regular high-level visits in the coming days.

US National Security Council spokesman Admiral Kirby said at the White House briefing that both leaders attach importance to direct phone conversations to resolve any critical issues.

Issues such as security, the use of artificial intelligence and countering drug trafficking have come up in bilateral discussions as areas of China-US multi-dimensional relations.
