Bogra Representative: RAB has arrested Helal Uddin (45), son of the deceased, on the charge of killing 85-year-old woman Zahera Bewa by slitting her throat in Sonatala, Bogra. Last Sunday evening RAB-12 and RAB-4 conducted a joint operation and arrested him from Manikganj. The arrested Helal Bogra is a resident of Garamara village of Sonatala upazila and the son of the deceased. Company Commander (Superintendent of Police) Mir Monir Hossain confirmed the arrest in a press briefing held at RAB-12 Bogra camp on Monday afternoon. He said, On August 25, around 2:30 am, someone killed 85-year-old Zahera Bewa by slitting her throat at her home. In this incident, Zahera's elder son filed a complaint at Sonatala police station accusing unknown persons. After that, RAB Chhaya started investigating. Helal, son of the victim, was initially arrested as a suspect. Later, Helal was arrested for killing his mother. The arrested accused has been handed over to Sonatala police station.
Meanwhile, as the reason for the murder, it is known from the intelligence sources of Sonatala Thana police and RAB that for several years, Helal, who was arrested, had a dispute with UP member Tuku Mia and his nephew Zulfikar Ali, a school teacher, over the 45th century land in Garmara village. Helal plans to kill his mother to trap Tuku and Zulfiqar without being able to take possession of the property. Because of this, on the night of August 25, Pashand Helal killed Zahera Bewa by slitting her throat. Later, Helal and Sakina tried to implicate Tuku and Zulfikar in the police investigation. However, when Zahera's son's wife Sakina's behavior seemed suspicious, Sonatala police arrested her. Later Sakina's confession revealed the reason for the murder. However, everything will come out in the proper investigation of the case, said those concerned.
