
Kurigram Correspondent: A Bangladeshi youth named Manik Mia (32) was killed in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Roumari border in Kurigram. He is the son of Abdul Baten of Behularchar village of Shaulmari union of the upazila.
It is reported that the smuggling team went to smuggle Indian cows near International Border Pillar 1061 of Behularchar border in Shaulmari Union late on Saturday night. BSF members of Indian 45 Battalion Kuchnimara Camp on sensing the presence of smugglers fired at them. Manik Mia was shot in the right side of the chest and died on the spot.
Roumari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Rup Kumar Sarkar said that Manik's body was secretly buried in Bancharchar area of Bandber union by his associates. Later, his body was recovered after receiving information. Legal action is under process in this incident.
