International Desk: China has again made a major intrusion into Taiwan's defense airspace. In about six hours, 37 Chinese warplanes entered the territory's air defense zone. The news agency NDTV reported this information in a report on Thursday (June 8) citing the news agency AFP. Meanwhile, in this incident, there is a fear of a new increase in tension around the Taiwan Strait. More than 30 Chinese warplanes entered Taiwan's air defense zone in about six hours, the island's defense ministry said on Thursday. China claims self-ruled Taiwan as its own territory. The superpower has even vowed to occupy it one day by using force if necessary.

AFP says China has greatly increased its violations of Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) in recent years. And compared to 2021, such violations almost doubled in 2022. The continuation of this activity of Beijing continues this year as well. "A total of 37 Chinese military aircraft" entered Taiwan's southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIJ) since 5 a.m. local time on Thursday, said Sun Li-fang, spokesman for Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense. Taiwan's ADIZ is much larger than the land's airspace. Taiwan's military is "closely monitoring the situation," the defense ministry said on Twitter, adding that patrol aircraft, ships and land-based missile systems had been activated.

However, the Taiwanese ministry did not clarify whether the incursion of Chinese warplanes is still ongoing. Analysts say China's actions over Taiwan's defense zone are part of the country's broader "gray-zone" strategy aimed at keeping the island under pressure. It should be noted that Taiwan is an island in East Asia, located on the southeast coast of the Chinese mainland, east of the Taiwan Strait.

However, Beijing has always considered Taiwan a province of its own. For this reason, China has also said to keep the military route open to connect Taiwan with the mainland. Incidentally, after the Communists seized power in China in 1949, Taiwan was separated from the mainland. However, Beijing has always considered Taiwan a province of its own. Since then, Taiwan has been governed by its own government.
