BGB distributed relief materials to 800 people in Saint Martin

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan, BAM, NDC, PSC visited the cyclone-hit St. Martin Island on May 16 (Tuesday) and distributed relief items to the affected and helpless people.

visited St. Martin BOP under Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB) and distributed relief items to 800 destitute people of St. Martin affected by the cyclone. Later, BGB Director General interacted with BGB members on duty at St. Martin BOP and expressed sincere thanks to all levels of BGB members for performing their duties properly in dealing with the disaster. 

It is to be noted that since the declaration of emergency signal No. 10 in Cox's Bazar district and adjacent coastal areas to deal with the cyclone Mokha, BGB members have been miking in the coastal areas and going door to door to deliver the advance message of the disaster. Also, BGB has played a direct role in evacuating the people of cyclone-hit areas to cyclone shelters.
