International Desk: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine needs more time before launching a major counterattack against Russian forces. He said this in an interview given to BBC. Zelensky told the BBC that the UK was preparing to send the 'Storm Shadow' short-range cruise missile to help Kiev.
Britain's decision will make the country the first country to supply Kiev with long-range missiles. Britain is training a new contingent of forces and stockpiling Western-supplied munitions and hardware. News from AFP.
Analysts say the move will be key to recapturing Russian-held territory, although questions remain over the timing of the counteroffensive.
"We are mentally prepared," Zelensky said in an interview with the BBC published on Thursday. But he said, with what we have, we can move forward and succeed. But in that case we will lose many people. I think this is unacceptable. He said, so we have to wait. We need some more time.
However, Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of Russia's private military company Wagner, called Zelensky dishonest in an interview and said that Ukraine's counterattack is in full swing. Source: Bass
