Javed Iqbal Chowdhury, Cox's Bazar: A Rohingya youth named Hafez Mahbub (27) was killed in Ukhia camp of Cox's Bazar. He is the son of Forcefully Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) Syed Amin of Block D/9 of Camp No. 19. (March 18) The incident took place on Saturday at 6:30 pm in the block adjacent to Camp-12 G/7. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia police station Sheikh Md Ali confirmed the authenticity of the news and said that 5.6 terrorists shot a Rohingya named Hafez Mahbub 2 times in the chest from the block adjacent to G/7 of Camp No. 12 and escaped.
Later, nearby Rohingyas rescued the bullet-hit youth and took him to the MSF hospital adjacent to Camp No. 12. After the first treatment, the doctor on duty took him to Ukhia Upazila Health Complex Hospital, where he was declared dead. It is known that the Rohingya camp opposes drug trafficking and terrorist activities and helps the administration. The police believe that he was killed because of this.
