The Ministry of Education will support teachers in higher studies

News desk: Teachers of various universities and colleges will get help in higher research. The Ministry of Education is calling for research proposals in the financial year 2023-2024 under the higher research support program in the education sector. Md. This information has been informed in a notification signed by Farhad Hossain. In the notification, it has been said that the Ministry of Education will help to develop the necessary number of scientists, technicians and sociologists for the acquisition, innovation and application of advanced technology. 

The 11 areas in which research proposals have been invited are: Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, ICT, Marine Science, Research supporting the achievement of SDG and Eighth Five Year Plan targets, Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh Public Policy, Business Education. and Bangladesh Development Studies. The project concept note form must be filled and sent online through the prescribed channels by June 30. Researchers can apply online throughout the year. However, only applications received by June 30 will be considered for FY 2023-2014.

Researchers have been asked to collect the policy and PCN form from the prescribed Research Support Program details. The circular also said that teachers-researchers working in various departments of postgraduate colleges under national and open universities including all public and private general, specialized, technical, agricultural and medical universities of the country can apply for higher research support. Besides, officers and employees working in government and autonomous institutions who are involved in research or are interested in doing research can also apply.

The ministry has given some conditions for getting research support. As a condition, the applicant has to submit the Project Concept Note or PCN at the initial stage. Basic and applied research will be given priority. Preference will be given to applicants with publication and research experience in quality national and international journals. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in presenting papers or participating in international or national level seminars, symposiums, workshops and research teams or researchers.

The minimum research infrastructure, number of ongoing research, research publications and foreign linkage of research activities should be satisfactory. The notification said, the content of the research should be applicable in the country and should be consistent with the national needs in the context of time. Preference will be given to applicants who have already achieved success or reliability or promising provenance in research. Applicants cannot have any ongoing research under this program.
