News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government has decided to provide free insulin through community clinics across the country. She said this at the second graduation ceremony of Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib Memorial KPJ Nursing College at Kashimpur Tetuibari in Gazipur on Wednesday (March 15) morning. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we provide 30 types of medicines to people free of charge through community clinics. At the same time, we have also decided to give free insulin in the community clinics where we give free medicine. We have also taken measures so that people get rid of this disease.

The three-time prime minister said, the Awami League government always serves the people and we take our timely steps. From 2009 to 2023, we can at least claim that we have changed Bangladesh. He said, service is our job and we are doing that. Highlighting the success of the government in various fields, the Prime Minister said that today's Bangladesh is a digital Bangladesh, we have been able to increase the education rate and electricity in every house. We have reduced the child and maternal mortality rate, brought health services to the doorsteps of the people.

The Prime Minister said to the students who received bachelor's degree in nursing, you will definitely work as a dedicated soul in the service of the people. I would like to remind you of the world famous nurse Florence Nightingale, who was given the title of 'Lady with the Lamp'. But he dedicated his life to serve people. Sheikh Fajilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Nursing College and Hospital are planning to make a medical college, Sheikh Hasina said, there is another plan. As we have already done nursing college with this hospital, we will also set up a medical college here. We have taken the place, the financial thing; Because we do it through trust. We will set up a medical college here when financial stability comes. So that the people of this region get regular services.

Highlighting various steps taken by the government to promote education in medical science, the Prime Minister said that 22 out of 32 postgraduate medical institutions in Bangladesh have been established by our government. In 2009, only 1500 students got admission in 14 government medical colleges.

She said, in the last 14 years, that is, after coming to the Awami League government in 2009, we have increased that opportunity. We have established 23 new medical colleges. As a result, currently more than 4 thousand students are able to get admission in government medical colleges. Sheikh Hasina said, 47 private medical and dental colleges have been established. Many specialized institutions including 5 medical universities have been established with the aim of developing quality medical education and research.

She said, in 1998, we established the first medical university in the country, we are making it more advanced. We are building Bangabandhu Medical University as the largest institution for not only medical services but also for training and research. Along with that, we are taking the entire Bangladesh forward.
