News Desk: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that BNP had banned the March 7 speech. The speech which UNESCO recognized as one of the best speech in the world was banned in this Bangladesh during their rule. We do not believe that they have the least faith in this day and the spirit of the liberation war. He said these things to the journalists after the Awami League paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi number 32 on the occasion of March 7. He said that March 7 is a historical milestone in the history of Bangladesh. Bangabandhu's historic speech calling for independence to a huge crowd at the Race Course Maidan. He also said that BNP has destroyed democracy.

Democracy is a long-term process. Democracy will not be institutionalized overnight. We have tried. Democracy is gradually becoming institutionalized. What there is has been under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Obaidul Quader said, it should be seen how they have practiced the period of power. It is a group that does not have democracy at home. How will they establish democracy in the country? Obaidul Quader said, Bangabandhu said that day - this struggle is our liberation struggle, this struggle is the struggle for freedom. That day was actually the main declaration of independence. After Bangabandhu's arrest on March 26, the declaration of independence at 12:30 a.m. was a formality. But the main declaration of independence was made clear through the historic March 7 speech at Suhrawardy Udyan. Through this speech, our 23-year independence struggle became a struggle for freedom. Freedom from freedom is change. General Secretary of Awami League said that Bangabandhu had the only valid right to declare independence. Because he is the elected representative of the people. Bangabandhu's Awami League got 167 out of 169 seats in the then East Bengal.

Therefore, only Bangabandhu had the legal right to declare independence. No one else had a legitimate right to declare independence. Announcers are self-proclaimed announcers, many of whom were readers of announcements. Reader and announcer are not the same thing.
