Meeting fair of two Bengali poets and writers in Pabna

Tofazzal Hossain Babu, Pabna: 'Charniketan literature festival' is going on for three days in Char Gargari village of Sahapur union of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna. Charniketan Kavyamanch has become a meeting place with the participation of poets and writers from across Bengal.

The festival started on Friday (March 3) at 10:30 am with the performance of the National Anthem. Before this, a colorful rally was taken out with poets and writers at 10 am.

Over 200 poets and writers from different parts of the country, including 30 people from across Bengal and Calcutta, created a festive atmosphere in the conference due to the exchange of views and lively conversation. 

The event was inaugurated by the director general of Bangla Academy, Muhammad Nurul Huda, the director general of Bangla Academy, under the chairmanship of Kavi Majid Mahmud, the executive director of the private development organization Osaka and convener of the festival committee. In the speech of the chief guest, he said that the literary festival in the remote areas of rural Bengal has impressed me a lot. Poets will get encouragement from here through this kind of arrangement. Poets and writers will be created in the country. New ideas about literature will start among poets.

Also present on the occasion are Educationist Professor Shivjit Nag, Nilanjan Shaldilya, Adhir Krishnamandal, Debanjan Chakraborty, Chitra Lahiri, Deepak Lahiri, Syed Kawsar Jamal, Osaka Director Music Artist Mazhar Biswas, Aslam Sunny, Farid Ahmed Dulal, Mahmud Kamal, Zakir Talukdar, Parvez. Hossain, Dr. Poet Kudrat-e Huda, Dr. GM Moniruzzaman. Shahadat Hossain Nipu, Nazmul Ahsan, Masum Azizul Bashar, Madhusudan Mihir Chakraborty and others are present among the artists.

The three-day Bengali literature festival has various events besides poetry readings, topical seminars, and other exceptional events. In addition, on the final day, awards will be given, poets-writers, speakers, musicians from home and abroad will participate in various events. Various stalls of books and various exhibitions of poets and writers are around the conference. Also Bahari is the traditional food of all rural Bengali.

It is as if a festive atmosphere has been created throughout the village. Throughout the day, poetry reading sessions written by poets from all over Bengal are going on, and interesting cultural programs are also held at intervals.

The three-day literary conference was attended by poets Nilanjan Shaldilya, Adhir Krishnamandal, Debanjan Chakraborty, Chitra Lahiri, Deepak Lahiri and Bangladeshi poets Aslam Sunny, Farid Ahmed Dulal, Mahmud Kamal, Zakir Talukdar, Parvez Hossain and many others.

Convener of the literary festival, poet, researcher and director of Charniketan Kavyamanch Majid Mahmud said, I have been highlighting the importance of Bengali writers for 25 years. I am working to create literary. We are working to create love for literature among children and teenagers. He further said that it is a great pride and joy to be able to do something for Bengali literature, Bengali culture and the people of the country. I want to do this consistently.
