1.5 lakh families will get health care worth 50,000 per year: Zahid Malek

News Desk:  The health protection program has been expanded to six districts instead of one district, said Health Minister Zahid Malek. He said that 1.5 lakh families will get free health care worth Tk 50,000 per year. The minister gave this information in a briefing on contemporary issues related to health care in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health on Monday (February 13) afternoon.

Zahid Malek said, this service will be available in Manikganj, Barisal, Barguna, Laxmipur, Kurigram, Dhaka North and South City Corporation. There is a plan to take it to all districts of the country gradually. This is being done under Universal Health Coverage.

The import of life-saving medical equipment has stopped due to the closure of LCs due to the dollar crunch — the minister said on GM Quader's comments, "I have not heard of such a problem in our hospitals." We are in stock and getting everything needed. The government is very sincere.

He also said that if something is needed in health care, it will be fulfilled even if something else is stopped. Talked to the Governor of Bangladesh Bank. He said there will be no problem. However, there is no shortage of anything in government hospitals so far. LC can be opened from four government banks subject to application, instructions have been given.
