2 killed, 5 injured in road accident in Gaibandha

Atwar Rahman Rana, Gaibandha:  Two passengers of a battery-operated van were killed and 5 injured when a bus and a crab collided at Sakoa Majhipara on the Gaibandha-Palashbari road. This incident happened on Saturday (February 11) around 7:30 pm. The deceased are Shanto and Salim Mia. The house of both of them is in Thutiapukur area of ​​Palashbari upazila. 

UP member of Betkapa Union of Palashbari Upazila Sohel Mia said, a bus leaving from Dhaka was going towards Gaibandha, while a crab from Gaibandha towards Palashbari reached Sakoya Majhipara and the autovan fell into a two-way collision between the bus and the crab. Auto passenger Shanto and Salim Mia were seriously injured at the scene. 

Lokman Hossain, Station Officer of Palashbari Fire Service, said that both the seriously injured died on the way to the hospital after the accident. The names of the 5 injured passengers of the autovan are not known. 

Masud Rana, OC of Palashbari Police Station, said that immediately after the incident, they did the rescue work. Admitting that two people were killed, he said that 5 injured people were taken to Palashbari Health Complex.
