News Desk:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina advised everyone to be economical in the use of electricity and water. He said, it is not possible for the government to give such a huge amount of subsidy.

The Prime Minister made this call while inaugurating the newly constructed 'Viniyog Bhavan' of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) in Agargaon area of ​​the capital on Sunday morning in the chief guest's speech. 

Stating that the price of gas and electricity has increased in the outside world, the head of government said that England has increased the price of electricity by 150 percent. Everyone should remember this. But we have not gone to that stage. Gas and electricity can be provided at purchase price. And how much subsidy can be given. And in this case, why give? We are subsidizing agriculture, food production.'

Pointing out that 1 kilowatt of electricity costs 12 taka, the head of government said, 'there we are taking only 6 taka. That's why we hear a lot of shouting. Gas and electricity supply can be provided, if everyone is willing to pay whatever the purchase price is. Then it can be given. Apart from that, how much subsidy can be given?'

The Prime Minister said, 'We have been able to provide 100% electricity. Our aim was to electrify every house. We have delivered. I have withdrawn the tax that was on the generator. Arrangements have also been made for industries to generate electricity.
